PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aksel Stenger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Black Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stenger's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hit2face - Ain't it nice to get hit to the face?. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aksel Stenger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stenger misses with an uppercut. Coleman saw that one coming.

Coleman takes the fight into the clinch.
Coleman can't get the takedown.
Stenger scores with a shot to the side of Coleman's head.
Coleman tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Stenger lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Stenger swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Coleman misses with a knee strike.
Coleman misses with a knee strike.
Stenger misses with a body punch.
Coleman misses with a hook from the clinch.
Stenger doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Stenger lands a hook that snaps the head of Coleman backwards.
Coleman has Stenger pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stenger manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Coleman throws a head punch that misses.
Coleman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stenger pulls his leg out and moves away.

Stenger throws a push kick but Coleman slaps the foot to one side.

Stenger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Coleman moves away.

Stenger is doing well to control the position and prevent Coleman from advancing to side control.
Coleman is thwarting Stenger's attempts to control the position.
Coleman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stenger's head.

Stenger wants to control but Coleman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Stenger is pressing down on Coleman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Stenger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coleman on the ground.
Coleman stands up over Stenger, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Stenger on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stenger tries to get out of the position.
Stenger is trying to control the position but Coleman postures up.
Stenger has momentary wrist control but Coleman slips an elbow through the middle.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Stenger seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Stenger lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Coleman wants to sweep but no luck.
Stenger slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Coleman is trying to control the position but Stenger postures up.
Stenger looking to sit in guard and control but Coleman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Coleman stands and throws Stenger's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Stenger is trying to get back to half guard.
Coleman slows the pace down.
Stenger struggling a bit here.
Coleman throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Stenger can't do much from the bottom here.
Stenger keeping his opponent close.
Coleman is chipping away with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Black Coleman dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Coleman tries for a takedown but Stenger sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Coleman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Coleman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stenger.
Coleman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stenger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Coleman somewhat.

Coleman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Aksel Stenger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Coleman.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Coleman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Stenger misses with a leg kick
and Coleman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Aksel Stenger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stenger clobbers Coleman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Stenger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Coleman moves away from the strike by Stenger.
Stenger throws a leg kick but Coleman sees it coming and moves out of range.

and Stenger counters with a right hand to the body.
That kick from Stenger tenderised Coleman's leg. Coleman is trying to keep his angry face on.
Coleman slips a straight right by Stenger.
Coleman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Coleman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stenger can pounce on him.
Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stenger paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Coleman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stenger as he avoids it easily.

Stenger throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Coleman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A nice inside leg kick there by Stenger. That's going to slow Coleman down.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stenger lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A big right from Stenger misses.
Stenger dips to his left and cracks Coleman with an uppercut!
Coleman takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Coleman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stenger.

and Stenger counters with a thumping low kick.
Coleman is breathing heavily.
Coleman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Coleman shoots in looking for a takedown. Stenger tries to sprawl out of it but Coleman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stenger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Stenger feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Coleman's calf.
Stenger with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Stenger connects with a nice looking jab.
Stenger misses with a looping left.
Stenger misses with a hook.
Stenger misses with a wild body shot.
Stenger lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stenger paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Coleman's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Coleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stenger fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Coleman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Stenger.
Coleman shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Coleman with that takedown attempt.
Stenger is looking to counter punch.
Stenger throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Coleman on the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stenger throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Coleman tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Stenger throws a leg kick but Coleman checks it.
As Stenger backs off Coleman throws a huge counter combo but Stenger manages to avoid it all.
Coleman misses with a right hand
and Stenger counters with an outside leg kick.
Stenger lands with a thumping leg kick.
Stenger waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Coleman.
Stenger on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aksel Stenger dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Coleman throws a series of punches but Stenger avoids them all with ease.
Stenger stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stenger wants it to stay on the feet.
Coleman moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Coleman takes one on the button.
Coleman has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stenger.
Coleman doesn't manage to clinch there - Stenger circles away.
Black Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Decent striking displayed by Coleman there.
Good leg kick by Stenger there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Stenger is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Coleman.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Stenger counters with a low kick, right behind Coleman 's knee.
Coleman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Coleman walks forward, straight into a front kick from Stenger.
Stenger scores with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stenger uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Stenger walks into a jab.
Stenger fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Coleman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Stenger scoring well with a low kick there.
Coleman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Aksel Stenger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Coleman.
Stenger feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Coleman's calf.
Stenger throws a head kick that Coleman semi-blocks.
Aksel Stenger is winning the standup battle so far.
Stenger tries to close the distance and clinch but Coleman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Coleman checks a leg kick.

and Stenger counters with a head kick.

Coleman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


Coleman is rocked!
Stenger lands a body shot.
Coleman is still on wobbly legs! Can Stenger finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Coleman gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Stenger points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Coleman wakes up just in time to hear Stenger thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Aksel Stenger!
Aksel Stenger looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'What did i say last time? Come on, you should stay in gym.'.
