Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Rock!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bush tries a head kick but it misses.
Rock fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bush manages to avoid it.
Bush will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rock misses with a left hand

and Bush holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rock wants to get back to striking at distance but Bush won't allow it.
Rock gets underhooks to prevent Bush's takedown attempt.
Rock looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rock softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Bush drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bush looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bush prevents Rock from standing back up.
Rock is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Bush is taking a breather. Rock says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Rock pushes Bush off looking to stand but Bush dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bush avoids the body shot from Rock.
Bush swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rock counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rock leaves Bush with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rock doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Bush throws a poor cross that misses
letting Rock counter with a right hand.
Lance Rock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Rock counters with a three punch combo that has Bush backing up. Bush nods at Rock to acknowledge the strikes.

Rock moves out of range of the leg kick from Bush.

Rock keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A nice side step and Rock releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Bush throws a leg kick that is checked
enabling Rock to counter with a crisp jab.
Rock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bush.
Rock misses with an uppercut
and Bush counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rock avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bush looks to land a combination but Rock avoids it well.
A countering left hand to the body from Rock misses.
A low kick from Bush is predictable there
and Bush takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bush takes one to the chin there.
A head kick by Bush misses
and Rock counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A decent looking cross lands there for Rock.
Bush falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rock counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Rock counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rock is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bush had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Bush moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bush goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Rock looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Billy Bush is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bush takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Rock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Billy Bush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A nice side step and Rock releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Rock throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bush stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lance Rock seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Bush looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Rock digs a good body shot into Bush's ribs.

Bush shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rock's guard.
Rock is looking to stand back up but Bush counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rock.

Bush looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rock is trying to stand up here but Bush is controlling him well.
Bush thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rock's head.

Lance Rock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

letting Rock counter with a right hand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bush lets loose with a powerful body kick. Rock will feel that in the morning.
Rock sizes up Bush with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Rock lunges at Bush with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bush's hand.
Bush misses with a hook. Rock ducked under it nicely.

Lance Rock is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Bush drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rock is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bush asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Bush thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Rock explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Bush takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rock fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bush on the side of the head.
Rock slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Bush takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rock throws a body shot but no joy.
Bush throws a sloppy head kick and Rock moves out of range easily.
Bush just misses with a punch to the body.

and Bush takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bush lands a nice shot that snaps Rock's head back.
