Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bayden Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Les Luthor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luthor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luthor working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Luthor is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Luthor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Luthor connects with a nice short shot to Wood's temple.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wood utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Luthor keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Luthor shoots in looking for a takedown. Wood tries to sprawl out of it but Luthor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wood manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Bayden Wood will probably get the nod.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Bayden Wood.
Luthor leaves his chin hanging out and Wood seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Luthor crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
