The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo avoids the body shot from Webb.
Webb misses with a wild combination.

Araujo forces Webb back against the cage and clinches.

Araujo turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Araujo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Webb is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Araujo tries to advance to mount but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Araujo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Webb is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
An elbow from Araujo crashes against the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Webb tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Araujo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Araujo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Araujo stands up and beckons Webb to his feet.

and Webb connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Webb throws out a loose jab but Araujo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Araujo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Webb counters with a nice uppercut.
Webb lands a jab.

Webb connects with a good right hand that stumbles Araujo. Araujo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

enabling Webb to counter with a crisp jab.
Christopher Webb has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Araujo.
Webb leaves Araujo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Araujo looks winded!
Araujo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've been informed that Araujo has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Webb tests Araujo's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Araujo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Webb is fending him off so far but Araujo persists. Nope, Webb circles away and we're back to standing.
Webb drops Araujo with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Araujo! Webb dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Christopher Webb spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
