Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CJ Carter!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bones's half guard.

Bones has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Carter is on him like a limpet, forcing Bones back against the cage.

Bones has clasped his hands together around Carter's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Carter is trying to control Bones's posture but Bones avoids it.
Bones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carter on the ground.
Carter sneaks back into half guard.
Carter wants to control but Bones is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bones is pressing down on Carter's thigh, looking to free his foot. Carter is holding on for now.

Bones gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Bones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are battling for position here. Carter manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Bones stands up and waves to Carter to follow him.
Bones lands a head kick. Carter smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carter goes for a double leg but Bones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bones continues to drive forward.

Bones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter wants to get back to his feet but Bones passes into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bones trying to mount his opponent but Carter defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carter trying to hold on to Bones's head to control him but Bones postures up.
Bones throwing shots but Carter is blocking nicely.
Carter wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Bones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Carter fails with the takedown

and Bones holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bones successfully pulls guard.
Bones pulls Carter in close to prevent any damage.
Carter won't allow Bones to get back to his feet.
Carter wants to control from the top but Bones keeps moving.
Bones pulls Carter in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Bones dominated that round.
That's time! Bones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Carter dives in for a single leg takedown but Bones sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
As Carter tries to get set, Bones tries to push him back and clinch up but Carter manages to avoid the attempt.
Carter rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Bones counters by clinching up.
Bones on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Bones breaks from the clinch.
Carter shoots and misses

and Bones counters by clinching up.
Bones content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Bones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carter can do to turn this around?

Bones wants the takedown. Carter is fighting it off but Bones persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Carter's guard against the cage.
Bones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bones sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter keeping moving, preventing Bones from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter working a defensive guard here.
Bones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Bones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carter has escaped and now he's on top!

Bones controls Carter momentarily but Carter frees himself.
Carter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Bones has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though.
Carter trying to control but Bones is working from the bottom.
Carter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Carter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bones takes the fight into the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bones lands a takedown into guard.
Carter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Carter is looking to stand up but Bones isn't so interested in that idea.
Carter controlling Bones's posture.
Bones wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carter trying to control the position.
Bones trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Carter clinches up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Carter's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Bones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Carter doesn't manage to clinch there - Bones circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Bones dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Bones stuffs the takedown attempt from Carter. Carter gets slowly back to his feet.

Bones moves into the clinch.

Bones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carter takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Carter shoots and misses
and Bones counters with a big head kick but Carter shrugs it off.
Carter shoots in but Bones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jon Bones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CJ Carter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bones fails with the takedown.
Carter feints a counter leg kick.
Carter pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Carter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Carter there as he acknowledges the shot.
Carter attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Carter misses with a body kick.
Bones lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Carter crumples to the floor! Bones milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jon Bones!
