Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antony Wilcox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaylan Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Antony Wilcox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaylan Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilcox closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Coleman to the mat! Coleman manages to get full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coleman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wilcox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Coleman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Coleman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Coleman tries to free his leg and advance position but Wilcox is retaining full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Coleman wants to control from the top but Wilcox keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilcox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Coleman tries for a takedown but Wilcox sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wilcox wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Wilcox fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Coleman avoids it really well and circles away.
Jaylan Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wilcox darts in looking for a takedown but Coleman gets double underhooks and turns Wilcox into the cage.

Wilcox shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Coleman defends it nicely.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antony Wilcox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Coleman connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


It looks like Antony Wilcox has been cut.

Wilcox gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Coleman to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Wilcox jumps guard and drags Coleman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wilcox is on top in guard.

Coleman has momentary wrist control but Wilcox slips an elbow through the middle.

Wilcox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Coleman pinned against the cage. Coleman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Coleman is trying to drag Wilcox to the mat but Wilcox just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Wilcox postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Coleman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wilcox, into his guard.

Coleman throws an elbow that misses. Wilcox uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Coleman's guard. Nice move by Wilcox!

Wilcox is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Wilcox will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wilcox drops back, looking for a kneebar! Coleman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Coleman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Coleman!

Coleman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wilcox!

Wilcox sneaks out the side door and pushes Coleman away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wilcox, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
