Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex McCloskey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex McCloskey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Ross!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross throws a big shot that misses.
Ross misses with a left hand
and McCloskey counters with a straight right hand.
McCloskey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ross lands with a straight right. McCloskey didn't see that one coming.
McCloskey keeps the fight on the outside.
Ross shoots in looking for a takedown. McCloskey tries to sprawl out of it but Ross keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCloskey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ross misses with a right hand

and McCloskey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ross is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and McCloskey dives into side control.

Ross is trying to get back to half guard.

McCloskey tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

McCloskey dives in for a single leg takedown but Ross sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ross fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

McCloskey closes the distance and clinches.
Ross misses with some punches.

Ross lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ross is trying to break the clinch but McCloskey has him pressed against the cage.

Ross breaks from the clinch.

McCloskey feints and as Ross raises his hands in defense, McCloskey changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ross is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McCloskey throwing strikes but missing.
McCloskey slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ross wants to stand and escape but McCloskey is having none of it.

McCloskey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McCloskey sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ross wants to stand but McCloskey is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

McCloskey gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Ross gets caught napping as McCloskey dives in and scores a takedown. Ross manages to retain guard.
Ross is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McCloskey stands up from guard. Let's bang!
McCloskey fails with a takedown attempt.
McCloskey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ross defends it nicely.
Ross looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

McCloskey shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
McCloskey seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Ross fails to land the takedown.

Excellent takedown into side control there by McCloskey.
Ross takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ross tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but McCloskey presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Ross tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McCloskey postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ross looks a forlorn figure.
McCloskey lands a big shot there that rocks Ross but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ross can't escape the position.
McCloskey controlling from mount.
Ross wants to control but McCloskey is having none of it.
McCloskey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

McCloskey has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ross's face.

McCloskey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McCloskey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ross can do to turn this around?

McCloskey connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Ross is bucking up trying to escape but McCloskey cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
McCloskey breaks from Ross's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Ross is rocked!
Ross trying desperately to get to his feet.
McCloskey postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ross looks a forlorn figure.
Ross tries to hold on but McCloskey postures up.
Ross is breathing heavily.

McCloskey jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ross manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ross is trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex McCloskey dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Ross gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McCloskey to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ross is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McCloskey chips away with some ground and pound.
McCloskey tries to free his leg and advance position but Ross is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCloskey postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
McCloskey is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ross throws a series of punches but McCloskey moves out of range.

McCloskey throws an elbow that misses. Ross uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McCloskey's guard. Nice move by Ross!

Alex McCloskey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ross postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McCloskey pulls Ross in close to his closed guard and prevents Ross from doing any damage or advancing position.
Ross throws a strike but McCloskey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McCloskey controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ross wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and McCloskey manages to pass to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ross is looking to escape.
McCloskey frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ross tries to hold on but McCloskey pushes him away.
Alex McCloskey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McCloskey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alex McCloskey showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McCloskey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
