PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Danny Volcanic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devonte Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Devonte Harris was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volcanic misses with a takedown attempt
and Harris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Volcanic shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Harris eats them both and turns towards Volcanic to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Volcanic is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Harris's half guard.
Volcanic seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Volcanic misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Volcanic drives through with a takedown into Harris's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Harris will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Harris has his foot on Volcanic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Volcanic works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Harris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Volcanic's guard.

Volcanic wants to sweep but no luck.
Harris throws a big right hand that misses.
Volcanic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Volcanic pushes Harris off and scrambles back to his feet.

Volcanic closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Volcanic connects with a good right hand that stumbles Harris. Harris circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Harris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Volcanic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Harris slips a jab and a cross from Volcanic.
Volcanic lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Harris backs up against the cage.
Volcanic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harris tries to avoid it but Volcanic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harris to the ground. Harris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harris can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee asks Volcanic politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Volcanic prefers to stall for the moment though.
