Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geoghegan looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Geoghegan prevents Pate from getting back to his feet.
Geoghegan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pate is trying to control the position but Geoghegan postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pate really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pate can't keep his opponent in guard - Geoghegan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Geoghegan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pate sees it coming and defends easily.
Geoghegan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Geoghegan seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Geoghegan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Geoghegan wants to get back to his feet.
Pate is trying to stand back up but Geoghegan is controlling him
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Geoghegan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Geoghegan tries to advance to mount but can't.

Pate throws a lazy body kick
and Geoghegan counters with a double leg. Pate bangs his head on the mat and seems to be on queer street here... Geoghegan follows up with punches and the ref steps in to end the fight! It was the slam that caused all the problems.
