The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pheonix throws a leg kick but Shelf sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Shelf lands a body shot.
Pheonix avoids a punch combination nicely.
Shelf tries to bum rush Pheonix with a series of wild strikes but Pheonix uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
As Shelf tries to get set, Pheonix tries to push him back and clinch up but Shelf manages to avoid the attempt.
Shelf cracks Pheonix with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Pheonix shoots in for a takedown but Shelf shows good takedown defense.
A jab from Shelf finds it's way through Pheonix's defenses.
Shelf scores with a jab to the head.
Shelf swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pheonix throws a quick counter kick to the body but Shelf avoids it.
Shelf defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pheonix.
Shelf moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Shelf wants to stand up but Pheonix is controlling him.

Pheonix missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pheonix postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shelf utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pheonix working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Shelf's head.
Shelf wants to get back to his feet but Pheonix is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pheonix is looking to work some ground and pound but Shelf has wrist control.
Pheonix slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Shelf works the jab nicely.
Shelf lands a right hook to the body.
Shelf lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Pheonix wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Shelf lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pheonix circles away quickly and effectively.

Shelf has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Pheonix is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Pheonix fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shelf avoids it really well and circles away.

Pheonix changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shelf tries to avoid it but Pheonix manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shelf to the ground. Shelf escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shelf rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pheonix moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pheonix jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shelf smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Pheonix is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Pheonix throws a wild hook but Shelf just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Pheonix gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Shelf raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Top Shelf!
Top Shelf really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that SHINTO logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
