Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jan Paul Valens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ono Daebak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jan Paul Valens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ono Daebak!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Valens lands.
Crunch! Daebak slams his shin into Valens's torso.
Daebak throws a nice inside leg kick.
Daebak looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Daebak misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Valens.
Daebak lands a right hook to the body.
Daebak stuns Valens with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ono Daebak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daebak lands with a thumping leg kick.
Daebak connects with a leg kick. Valens looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Daebak clinches up with Valens and pushes him back against the cage.
Daebak tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Valens's elbow.

Valens has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Daebak uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daebak tries to stand but Valens is controlling from the bottom.
Daebak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Valens has his foot on Daebak's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daebak works his way back into a safe position though.

Daebak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Valens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Daebak has managed to get both his arms back between Valens's legs - danger averted.
Daebak would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Valens is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Valens shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Daebak avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Daebak swings wildly with an uppercut but Valens uses good head movement to avoid it.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Valens drops down looking for an ankle pick but Daebak pulls his leg out and moves away.

Daebak connects with a leg kick. Valens looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Daebak is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Valens moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Valens throws a shot from downtown. Daebak moves away and avoids it.
Daebak takes a swing at Valens's ribcage but misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Daebak lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Valens has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Valens and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Daebak is looking to chop away at Valens's legs.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Daebak enables Valens to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Daebak manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Daebak wants to stand and escape but Valens is having none of it.

Valens stands up over Daebak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Daebak is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Valens drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Valens jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Daebak has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Daebak is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Valens is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ono Daebak seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

I've got Daebak winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
