Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rolland Barr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Slavik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rolland Barr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Troy Slavik!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slavik shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Barr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Slavik wants to control from the top but Barr keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slavik is looking to pass into half guard but Barr pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Barr is in guard.

Slavik controls Barr momentarily but Barr frees himself.
Slavik wants to stand but Barr is controlling the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barr won't allow Slavik to sweep him here.

Barr controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Barr chips away with some ground and pound.
Barr stops Slavik from standing up.
Barr is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Barr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Slavik is pulling down on Barr's head to control his posture.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Troy Slavik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Slavik dodges the punch combination from Barr.

Slavik turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Slavik manages to end up in side control.

Slavik thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Barr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Barr regains half guard.
Slavik tries to stand and escape but Barr is controlling the position.
Barr is concentrating on defense, preventing Slavik from advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Slavik misses with a two punch combination.

Barr tries to sprawl but Slavik drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Slavik is just content to waste time from the top position. Barr takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Troy Slavik dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Slavik counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Barr wants to clinch up but Slavik keeps it at a distance.

Rolland Barr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Slavik gets a double leg takedown into Barr's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Barr manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Barr pulls guard effortlessly.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Slavik drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Barr dives on top into guard.

Slavik wants to sweep here but Barr controlling him for the moment.
Barr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Slavik is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barr connects with a couple of short punches.

Slavik wants to stand up but Barr is controlling him.
Barr cracks Slavik with a solid left hand.
Rolland Barr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Slavik not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Barr is in close to Slavik's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Barr in particular looking to stall.

Slavik takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Barr lands a nice shot to the head.
Barr wants to control the pace but Slavik is squirming around nicely.
Slavik tries to hold on but Barr pushes him away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Slavik is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rolland Barr dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Slavik feints and then cracks Barr's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Barr down.

Slavik is looking to clinch but Barr is avoiding it.
Barr throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Slavik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Slavik takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Slavik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barr throws a strike but Slavik rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Slavik tries to stand but Barr is controlling from the bottom.
Barr seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Slavik gets to his feet - Barr follows without any prompting.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Barr avoids a punch combination nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Troy Slavik comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Slavik has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
