The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Naranbaatar moves out of range as Lainey strikes.
Lainey ducks right into an uppercut from Naranbaatar.
Naranbaatar lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lainey at a distance.
Lainey looks to throw the jab but Naranbaatar is out of range.
Lainey misses with a leg kick
and Naranbaatar counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Naranbaatar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lainey.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Naranbaatar prevents Lainey from escaping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lainey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lainey is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Naranbaatar is controlling him well.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Naranbaatar has hold of Lainey's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lainey tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Naranbaatar cranks the arm and Lainey screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lainey, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tarkhan Naranbaatar!
