Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Herbert Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Herbert Larson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Kennedy!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Chris Kennedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kennedy scores with a takedown into Larson's guard.
Larson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Larson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Larson has Kennedy pulled in close to control his posture.
Kennedy postures up and lands a big shot to Larson's brow.
Kennedy wants to stand but Larson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Larson working for a triangle but Kennedy defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Larson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Larson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kennedy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Larson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kennedy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kennedy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Larson holds on and takes a little breather.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kennedy stands up over Larson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Larson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kennedy manages to get himself to full guard.

Kennedy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Larson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Larson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kennedy defends well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kennedy stays in close to Larson's body and controls the position.

Kennedy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kennedy is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Larson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Larson is looking to improve his position but Kennedy isn't that keen on the idea.

Kennedy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kennedy has control of Larson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Larson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kennedy is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Larson has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Larson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Chris Kennedy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Kennedy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kennedy showed some decent athleticism there.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kennedy. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Larson wants to control but Kennedy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Kennedy is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Larson misses with a double jab
and Kennedy counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
