Bailey Sr. comes to the cage accompanied by Damian Marley - Road To Zion. Kordell Bailey Sr. has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kordell Bailey Sr.!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sher Shah Suri!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bailey Sr. is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Suri.

Bailey Sr. has been working on his boxing with his coaches at True North Fight Team in the buildup to the fight.

Bailey Sr. throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Suri tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bailey Sr. is in Suri's guard.

Bailey Sr. tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bailey Sr. has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bailey Sr. content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Bailey Sr. tries to move to mount but Suri blocks the move with his legs.
Suri is trying to buck Bailey Sr. off.
Bailey Sr. just content to control the position.
Bailey Sr. wants to control but Suri is keeping him busy.

Bailey Sr. is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Suri has escaped the position, nice work there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Suri wants to get back to his feet but Bailey Sr. drags him back down.
Suri avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bailey Sr..
Suri is trying to get back to his feet.
Bailey Sr. tries to advance to mount but Suri denies him.
Bailey Sr. cracks Suri with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Suri stops Bailey Sr. from passing to mount.
Bailey Sr. wants to lay and pray for a moment but Suri keeps working.
Suri is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bailey Sr. has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Suri lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Bailey Sr. throws a nice looking combination but Suri bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Suri is looking for the big counter here.
Suri wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Bailey Sr. scores with a shot to the body.
Bailey Sr. throws out a loose jab but Suri uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bailey Sr. shoots in looking for a takedown but Suri manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bailey Sr.'s face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Sher Shah Suri is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Suri counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Suri seems to have recovered his senses.

Bailey Sr. waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Suri. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Suri to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suri is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bailey Sr. is controlling him.

Suri is trying to get back to his feet but Bailey Sr. has full control of the position and if anything, Suri has just worked his way into a worse spot.

A looping hook to the body misses from Suri. Bailey Sr. does a little dance to reset his feet.
Suri tries to bum rush Bailey Sr. with a series of wild strikes but Bailey Sr. uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

No joy there for Suri, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sher Shah Suri has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kordell Bailey Sr..
Well Bailey Sr. has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
