Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Val Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonah Monteiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Val Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonah Monteiro!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Monteiro punishes Savage's body with a nice straight punch.
Monteiro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Savage.
Monteiro misses the shot to the body.
Savage has managed to clinch.
Monteiro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Savage turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Savage throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Monteiro tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Savage wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Savage decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Savage gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Savage breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Savage could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Monteiro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Savage as he avoids it easily.
Savage moves into the clinch.
Savage turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Monteiro tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Savage is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Monteiro defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Monteiro tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Savage prevents Monteiro from getting the reversal.
The referee warns Monteiro that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Savage is working for a guillotine from mount but Monteiro frees his head quite easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Monteiro is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Savage has hold of Monteiro's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Monteiro manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Savage stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Monteiro connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Savage's hands.
Savage tries to score with a low kick but Monteiro moves his leg out of the way.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Monteiro shoots in but no luck this time.
Monteiro scores with a one two! Savage had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Savage takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
A nice combination there by Monteiro.
Monteiro throws a right and a left that Savage avoids nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Monteiro scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Savage is rocked!
Nice body punch from Monteiro.
Oh Savage is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Monteiro catches Savage with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Savage forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
