Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Howard Stern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harrison Yates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stern comes to the cage accompanied by The Great American Nightmare. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howard Stern!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Harrison Yates!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Yates. Stern does a little dance to reset his feet.
Yates looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Yates throws a leg kick but Stern sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Yates takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Yates misses with a hook. Stern ducked under it nicely.
Stern takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Stern darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Yates is looking to control Stern's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Yates avoid being mounted?
Yates holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Yates is staying active underneath Stern, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yates takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yates misses with an uppercut. Stern saw that one coming.
Yates misses the jab.
Yates takes a swing at Stern's ribcage but misses.
Stern throws a lazy right hand but Yates sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Good shot there by Yates.
Yates tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stern swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stern uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Yates.

Stern manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Yates on his heels. He'll look to pass Yates's guard now, I'm sure.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stern throws out a loose jab but Yates uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stern fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yates manages to avoid it.

Yates throws a right and a left that Stern avoids nicely.
A little feinted left hand from Stern on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Yates sizes up Stern with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Stern feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stern wants to control from the top but Yates keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Stern stands and throws Yates's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Stern goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Yates rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Stern's guard! Nice work there by Yates!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Howard Stern.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stern, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
