Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kukulcan Tonga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tonga gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A nice combination there by Murray.
No joy there for Murray, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Murray throws a lazy uppercut
and Tonga counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Murray on the wrong end of a nice jab.

It looks like John Murray has been cut.
Murray fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Murray lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Murray cracks Tonga with an open hand slap.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Murray throws a series of strikes that have Tonga backpedaling.
Tonga connects with a good right hand that stumbles Murray. Murray circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Murray scores with a punch to the head.
Tonga displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Murray throws out the jab.

Tonga is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Murray.
Murray ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Tonga takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Murray throws a predictable looking body shot
and Tonga counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Murray scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tonga gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Murray.
Murray throws a jab when Tonga was well out of range.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Tonga.
Murray throws a combination that misses

and Tonga counters with a nice right hand that sends Murray toppling to the canvas! Murray scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Tonga finish him?!

Murray is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Murray is aggressively charging in as Tonga backs up avoiding any damage. Tonga tosses out a jab and Murray runs right into it face first! Murray is out cold! Tonga dropped down on all fours and is barking in Murray's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kukulcan Tonga!
In his post fight interview, Kukulcan Tonga started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
John Murray was interviewed post fight and said 'Fuck this fuckin' shit. Fuck you opponent, Fuck you crowd, and fuck you ref'.
