The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Hansen with that takedown attempt.
Laiho fails with the takedown

and Hansen moves into the clinch.
Laiho has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hansen after a bit of a struggle.
Laiho tries to circle away but Hansen has him pinned against the cage.

Hansen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laiho tries to clinch but Hansen moves out of range.
Hansen went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Arttu Laiho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Laiho misses
and Hansen counters with a right hand to the body.

Laiho closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hansen quickly recovers to half guard.
Hansen wants to get back to his feet.

Hansen tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Laiho seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Laiho looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laiho looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Laiho slips a nice elbow through Hansen's hands, connecting with Hansen's forehead.

Hansen has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Laiho is on him like a limpet, forcing Hansen back against the cage.

Newton Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arttu Laiho.
Laiho tries to break free but Hansen pushes him back against the cage.

Hansen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Laiho breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Laiho throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Newton Hansen will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Laiho throws a right hand that Hansen ducks under and follows up with a left that Hansen also avoids with ease.

Hansen tries to pull guard but Laiho won't allow it.

Laiho tries a head kick but it misses.
Laiho throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Laiho misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hansen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Laiho counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Hansen clinches up against the cage.
Laiho wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hansen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hansen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Laiho works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Hansen wants to improve his position but Laiho is controlling well.

Hansen has closed the distance and engaged Laiho in a clinch.
Hansen stops a takedown attempt from Laiho.
Laiho jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hansen walks away with a smile on his face. Laiho gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Laiho throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hansen's head.

It looks like Newton Hansen has been cut.
Laiho with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Oh Hansen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Laiho lands with a nice body punch.
