Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antony Wilcox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tallis Vidar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antony Wilcox has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Antony Wilcox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tallis Vidar!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vidar forces Wilcox back against the cage and clinches.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Vidar works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vidar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilcox swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wilcox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vidar is one step ahead there.
Vidar tries to stand but Wilcox is controlling from the bottom.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vidar wants to control from the top but Wilcox keeps moving.

Wilcox has his foot on Vidar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vidar works his way back into a safe position though.

Wilcox throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vidar escapes and throws Wilcox's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Vidar stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and Wilcox moves into the clinch.

Wilcox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vidar cracks Wilcox with an open hand slap.

Wilcox shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vidar is trying to defend but Wilcox finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Wilcox is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Wilcox is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vidar defends it well.
Vidar is looking for a sweep. Wilcox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wilcox is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wilcox seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Wilcox is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vidar sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vidar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wilcox is working away from the top position though.
Wilcox really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wilcox is working for a submission of some sort.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wilcox takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We've been informed that Vidar has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Wilcox is trying to work for a kimura but Vidar is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Antony Wilcox will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Vidar lands a really nice looking cross but Wilcox seems unphased.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Wilcox.

Wilcox wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vidar, who protects the arm well.
Wilcox is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vidar can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wilcox is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vidar has managed to free his arm - good work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Vidar throws a series of strikes that have Wilcox backpedaling.

Wilcox bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wilcox swings around for an armbar but Vidar sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Wilcox's guard.

Vidar has gone for a leg lock! Wilcox slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vidar's guard.

Vidar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Wilcox is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Wilcox shoots in and bounces Vidar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Wilcox throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vidar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wilcox is in Vidar's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wilcox accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Vidar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Tallis Vidar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Antony Wilcox is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Wilcox throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vidar was covering up waiting for the punch and Wilcox finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Vidar kicks Wilcox off and gets to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tallis Vidar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wilcox has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
