PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AC Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Levan Revazshvili (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slater comes to the cage accompanied by Stop What Ya Doin. Revazshvili is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Georgia National Anthem. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Levan Revazshvili enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, AC Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Levan Revazshvili!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Revazshvili misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Revazshvili takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Slater throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Revazshvili on the side of the head.
Slater misses with a two punch combination.
Slater takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Revazshvili swings away with a body shot that misses
and Slater counters with a stiff right hand.
Revazshvili has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Slater fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Revazshvili! But no joy.
Slater misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Revazshvili throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Slater sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Slater swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Revazshvili misses with a looping left.
Slater throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Revazshvili counters with a nice uppercut.

Slater will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

As Slater backs off Revazshvili throws a huge counter combo but Slater manages to avoid it all.
Levan Revazshvili is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Revazshvili paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Slater tries for a takedown but Revazshvili sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Slater moves out of range as Revazshvili strikes.
A little feinted left hand from Slater on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Slater misses with a series of wild punches.
Revazshvili throws a body shot but no joy.
Revazshvili ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slater moves away.
Slater ducks right into an uppercut from Revazshvili.
Revazshvili scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've been told by Slater's head coaches at Fight Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Revazshvili lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Revazshvili.

Slater is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Slater jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Revazshvili doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Slater throws a series of punches but Revazshvili avoids them all with ease.

Slater shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Slater was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You can see the frustration on Revazshvili's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that AC Slater will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A looping hook to the body misses from Slater. Revazshvili does a little dance to reset his feet.
Slater cracks Revazshvili with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Revazshvili lands a nice shot to the body.
Revazshvili throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Revazshvili connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Slater counters with a nice uppercut.

Slater lands a big uppercut and Revazshvili crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Revazshvili looks OK. Slater waves Revazshvili back to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Revazshvili takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Revazshvili is still on wobbly legs! Can Slater finish him?
Slater shoots in but no luck this time.
Slater will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Revazshvili seems to have recovered his senses.

and Revazshvili makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Levan Revazshvili seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Revazshvili fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slater manages to avoid it.
Slater is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Revazshvili avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Slater closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Slater tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Revazshvili defends well and Slater ends up having to push Revazshvili into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Revazshvili has hold of Slater's hands but Slater slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Revazshvili is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Slater slows the pace down in half guard.
Slater looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Revazshvili with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Levan Revazshvili has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Slater lands with a punch from half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Slater connects with a nice short shot to Revazshvili's temple.
Revazshvili is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Slater scores with a couple of nice shots.
Slater creates some space for himself and unloads with a monster right hand! That one landed with a sickening thud - Revazshvili is out cold and this one is all over! Slater climbs onto the cage to celebrate with his corner!! He's shouting something into the camera but he's still got his mouthpiece in so God knows what he's actually saying.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). AC Slater!
AC Slater was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
