The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cropp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bateman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bateman misses with a leg kick.
Bateman slips a jab and a cross from Cropp.
Bateman now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Cropp looks for a takedown but Bateman sprawls well.
Cropp throws a series of punches but Bateman moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Bateman as Cropp shoots in.
Bateman lands a slapping body shot.
A left lands for Bateman.
Cropp gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bateman counters with a nice low kick that buckles Cropp's knee momentarily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karol Cropp. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cropp is breathing heavily.
Bateman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cropp.
Bateman feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cropp sprawling to the canvas! Cropp rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bateman finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cropp closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bateman's guard.
Bateman wants to stand but Cropp is controlling the position.
Bateman keeping moving, preventing Cropp from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bateman will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Bateman lands a decent punch to the body there.
Bateman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bateman is adopting a defensive guard.
Cropp throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cropp lands a couple of digs.
Bateman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Bateman is continuing to stall.
Cropp throws a big right hand that misses.
Bateman keeping moving, preventing Cropp from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bateman wants to sweep here but Cropp controlling him for the moment.
Cropp engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bateman manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Cropp manages to break the clinch.
Cropp has his takedown stuffed
and Bateman counters with a head kick that drops Cropp to the mat! Cropp scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Cropp is rocked!
Cropp misses with a takedown attempt
and Bateman counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
