PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Snead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Scouser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Micky Scouser told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Snead!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Micky Scouser!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Scouser. Snead does a little dance to reset his feet.
Snead walks into a stiff left hand from Scouser.


It looks like Sam Snead has been cut.
Snead keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fighters circling - Scouser throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Scouser looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Scouser connects with a good right hand that stumbles Snead. Snead circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Snead throws a leg kick
and Scouser counters with a good low kick that Snead was not able to check.
Scouser throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Snead scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.


It looks like Micky Scouser has been cut.
Snead misses with a looping left.
Scouser only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Scouser throws a body kick that misses.
Scouser misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Snead.
Snead throws a lazy uppercut
and Scouser counters with a straight right hand.
Scouser bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scouser staying out of range there.
Scouser follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Snead moves out of range of the body kick from Scouser.
Nice uppercut there from Snead.
Nice defenses there by Snead.
Scouser throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Snead on the side of the head.
Snead thows a left - swing and a miss!
Snead has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Red House in the buildup to the fight.
A big right from Snead misses.
Snead throws a lazy right hand but Scouser sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Snead throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sam Snead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snead throws a shot from downtown. Scouser moves away and avoids it.
Scouser checks a low kick from Snead.
Snead jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Scouser shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Snead manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scouser trying to control the position from guard on top but Snead is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Scouser might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Snead haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Scouser in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scouser postures up in Snead's guard and throws a big left but Snead blocks it.
Scouser trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Scouser is stalling in the full guard.
Scouser is looking to work some ground and pound but Snead has wrist control.

Scouser is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Scouser tries to free his leg and advance position but Snead is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Scouser uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Snead has time to react.
A slapping leg kick lands for Snead.
Snead gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Scouser.
Snead throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A jab from Snead misses.
Scouser misses with an uppercut. Snead saw that one coming.
Snead avoids the head kick by Scouser.
Scouser connects with a body shot.
Scouser with a nice cross.
Scouser misses with a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scouser avoids the head kick by Snead.
Snead misses with a hook to the body
and Scouser counters with a straight right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Snead crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Scouser - the referee stops the clock and Snead gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Scouser. Snead manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Snead is breathing heavily.
Scouser changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A head kick by Scouser - that's a beauty! Snead is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Scouser can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Micky Scouser!
