Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rolland Barr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barr avoids the head kick by Griffin.
Griffin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Barr backs up against the cage.
It looks like Rolland Barr has been cut.
Griffin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Barr avoids a punch combination nicely.
Griffin is looking to clinch but Barr is avoiding it.
Griffin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Barr tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Griffin is in Barr's guard.
Barr is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Griffin presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Barr gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Griffin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Barr kicks Griffin off and gets to his feet.

Rolland Barr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Griffin gets a clinch.
Griffin tries to stall but Barr uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Griffin is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Griffin pulls guard successfully.
Griffin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Barr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Barr controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Griffin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Barr lands a couple of elbows.
Barr scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Barr is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Barr's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Barr postures up and lands a big shot to Griffin's brow.

Barr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barr content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Barr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Griffin's head.

Barr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Griffin wants to get back to his feet but Barr passes into half guard.
Barr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Griffin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barr.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Griffin tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Barr counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barr.
Barr is standing up over Griffin. Griffin looks to escape but Barr dives into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffin tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Barr presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Barr pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Barr cracks Griffin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Barr lands a couple of good shots and Griffin has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Barr connects with a big shot to the side of Griffin's head.
Barr lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Griffin hold on?!
Barr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Griffin can do to turn this around?
Barr connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Griffin to escape the position.
Barr throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Griffin!
Griffin is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barr really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Griffin.
Griffin is trapped and Barr is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Barr sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Griffin taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rolland Barr!
