Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Preuss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Puller!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preuss tries to move into range but Puller moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Preuss fails in his attempt to clinch.
And Puller responds with a good body kick, but Preuss manages to step out the way in time.
Puller lands with a good body shot.
Puller misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Preuss.
Preuss is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Puller is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Preuss with a body shot.
Preuss tries to clinch up.
Preuss wants to clinch up but Puller keeps it at a distance.
Preuss tries to close the distance and clinch but Puller swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Puller paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

A nice side step and Puller releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Puller keeps the fight on the outside.
Aaron Preuss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Preuss sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Preuss is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Puller. Preuss shrugs it off though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Preuss takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Puller bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Puller throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Puller misses with an attempted mid kick.
Preuss fires out a quick counter leg kick but Puller just manages to avoid it.
Puller avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've been told by Preuss's head coaches at Midnight MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Puller misses the shot to the body.
Puller cracks Preuss with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Puller circles away from the clinch attempt.
Puller avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Puller replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Preuss blocks it well.
Puller swats away the attempt to clinch by Preuss.

Puller jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Preuss moves into range and clinches up with Puller.
Preuss prevents a body shot from Puller.
Preuss lands a right hand that snaps the head of Puller backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Puller breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Puller misses with a wild body shot.
Puller scores with a kick to the midsection.
Puller connects with a jab.
Preuss walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Preuss moves in looking to clinch but Puller pushes him off.

Puller lands a big right hand that sends Preuss crashing to the mat! Puller stays standing though and waves Preuss back to his feet!


Preuss is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Puller dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

It seemed like Puller was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Preuss moves in looking to clinch but Puller pushes him off.

and Preuss counters with a good low kick that Puller was not able to check.

Puller looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Puller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Preuss was well out of range. Poor timing from Puller.
The fight stays on the outside here - Preuss looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Preuss wants to clinch up but Puller keeps it at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Preuss moves forwards but Puller connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Oh Preuss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Puller pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Puller sends Preuss crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Puller is motioning to the referee to let Preuss up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Puller misses the shot to the body.
Puller misses with a wild body shot.

Puller lands a big right hand that sends Preuss crashing to the mat! Puller stays standing though and waves Preuss back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Preuss moves in looking to clinch but Puller pushes him off.
Puller throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Preuss is looking for a counter combo.
Puller circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Preuss to the canvas! Preuss doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Puller keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
