PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hatfield McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evgeni Elkemenchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCoy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dueling Banjos. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy throws a leg kick which misses Elkemenchi's front leg but catches the back leg as Elkemenchi tries to avoid it.
Elkemenchi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Elkemenchi shoots for a double leg takedown but McCoy sprawls well. He's pushed Elkemenchi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McCoy lands a nice looking kick to the body. Elkemenchi takes a step back to recover.

and Elkemenchi counters with a shoot takedown. McCoy fights it but they end up in guard.
McCoy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Elkemenchi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

McCoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Elkemenchi on the ground.
