Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matsuda Taro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Raylan Crowder!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowder uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
A big left from Crowder misses.
Taro misses with a two punch combination.
Taro blocks a jab.
It looked like Taro was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Crowder.
Taro ducks under a wild hook from Crowder.
Crowder just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromTaro.

Crowder lands with a shot to the body.
Taro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Crowder.
Crowder throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Crowder uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Taro seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Crowder tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Taro was well out of range. Poor timing from Crowder.

and Taro connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Taro looks to score with a jab to the body but Crowder is just out of range.
Crowder scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Crowder throws out a loose jab but Taro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Crowder throws a nice looking combination but Taro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Taro is looking to counter punch.
Taro misses with a lunging right hand
and Crowder counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Crowder lands a body shot.
Taro takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Taro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Taro misses with a leg kick.
Taro is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taro has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Taro there as he acknowledges the shot.
Crowder swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Taro counters with a stiff right hand.
Taro looks to score with a jab to the body but Crowder is just out of range.
Crowder tries to bum rush Taro with a series of wild strikes but Taro uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Crowder scores with a punch to the head.
Taro feints and then cracks Crowder's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Crowder down.
Crowder lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Crowder misses the body punch
and Taro counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Raylan Crowder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Taro attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Taro connects with the punch.


It looks like Raylan Crowder has been cut.
Crowder dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Crowder's coach down at Russian Bears Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Crowder's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Sloppy strikes from Crowder. Those never looked like landing.
The crowd cheers as Taro lands an impressive looking overhand right. Crowder doesn't seem phased though.

Taro scores with a hook to the body. Crowder takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Taro lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Crowder at a distance.
Crowder swings widly with a right hand
and Taro counters with a big right hand! Oh Crowder is in trouble here! Taro follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matsuda Taro!
Matsuda Taro bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Raylan Crowder was interviewed post fight and said 'JLP sure is hung.'.
