PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luis Ganador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Ceronne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ganador comes to the cage accompanied by We Will Rock You. Luis Ganador is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Luis Ganador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexander Ceronne!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ganador lands a high kick!


It looks like Alexander Ceronne has been cut.
Ganador throws a body shot but no joy.
Ganador closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ceronne circles away.
Ceronne blocks a jab.
Ganador will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ceronne shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ceronne showed some decent athleticism there.
Ganador is trying to escape back to his feet but Ceronne uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ganador takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ganador knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ceronne on the ground.
Ceronne tries to move to mount but Ganador blocks the move with his legs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ceronne tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ceronne has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ganador wants to get back to his feet.
Ceronne landing strikes.

Ceronne is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ganador is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ceronne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ganador keeps working.
Ganador is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ceronne wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ganador, who protects the arm well.
Ceronne controls the position from side control.
Ganador wants to control but Ceronne postures up.
Ganador pushes Ceronne away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ceronne gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ceronne is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ganador has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ceronne working the ground and pound.
Ceronne remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Ganador throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Ganador throws the kick towards the body but Ceronne avoids it.
Ceronne is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Ganador with a body shot.
Ganador misses with a body shot.
Ganador throws a hook to the side of Ceronne's head but Ceronne sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ceronne. That's going to slow Ganador down.
Ceronne misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ganador misses with a lunging right hand

and Ceronne counters with a takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ceronne wants to control but Ganador is keeping him busy.
Ceronne remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Alexander Ceronne has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ceronne throwing shots but Ganador is blocking nicely.
Ceronne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ganador is staying active underneath Ceronne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ceronne stops Ganador from getting back to his feet.
Ceronne tries to pass to full mount but Ganador defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Still in half guard, Ceronne seems content to control.
Ganador is trying to stand back up but Ceronne is controlling him

Ceronne is working for a submission of some sort.
Ceronne takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ceronne seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Ceronne working the head and body with strikes.
Ceronne is looking to advance position but Ganador won't allow it.

Ceronne is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Ganador still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Ganador has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Ceronne manages to get back to half guard.
Ceronne is looking to improve his position.

Ceronne actively working from the bottom here.

Ganador wants to stand up but Ceronne is controlling the position.
Ceronne manages to get to full guard.

Ceronne is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ganador defends well.
Ceronne wants to sweep but no luck.
Ganador wanted to stand there but Ceronne had control of the position.

Ganador tries to stand but Ceronne is controlling from the bottom.

Ceronne looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ceronne striking off his back but it's not causing Ganador any problems.
Ganador wants to stand but Ceronne is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ceronne throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Ganador trying to control but Ceronne is working from the bottom.

Ceronne is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ceronne trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Ganador wants to get up but he can't break Ceronne's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Ganador shoots in looking for a takedown but Ceronne manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ganador's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Luis Ganador is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ganador misses with a right hand

and Ceronne counters with a single leg into guard. Ganador didn't expect that.
Ceronne throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ganador works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ceronne is pushing down on Ganador's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ganador is fighting to maintain full guard but Ceronne has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ceronne looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Ceronne seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Ganador is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Alexander Ceronne!
An out of breath Alexander Ceronne thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
