And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damien Thorn!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorn throws a big shot that misses.
Thorn closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
McKenna fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McKenna throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Thorn takes one on the button.
Thorn moves out of range of the strikes.
Thorn misses with a straight left.
Thorn lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Thorn slips a straight right by McKenna.
Thorn throws a head kick that misses
and McKenna connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McKenna has been working on his boxing with his coaches at English Top Team - THE Hybrid Gym (11 ELITE ) in the buildup to the fight.

It looks like Gus McKenna has been cut.
McKenna moves out of range as Thorn strikes.
McKenna appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Thorn tries to close the distance and clinch up but McKenna swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McKenna misses with a hook. Thorn ducked under it nicely.
McKenna connects with a crisp jab.
McKenna tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Thorn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McKenna.

Thorn connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McKenna's hands.
Thorn takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Damien Thorn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thorn looks for a takedown but McKenna sprawls well.
It looked like McKenna wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Thorn takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
McKenna fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thorn.
Thorn throws a leg kick but McKenna moved away.

McKenna fails in his attempt to clinch.
Thorn goes for a double leg but McKenna avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McKenna continues to drive forward.
McKenna looks to land a left hand but Thorn moved out of range nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McKenna throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McKenna moves out of range as Thorn throws a body kick.
McKenna takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

McKenna has had enough of the clinch but Thorn keeps him there for the moment.

Thorn lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of McKenna backwards.

Thorn slips a straight right by McKenna.
McKenna uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thorn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McKenna.
Thorn throws a series of punches but McKenna avoids them all with ease.
McKenna half committed to a counter leg kick.
McKenna moves out of range of the body kick.
Thorn tries to clinch up but McKenna circles away and keeps his distance.
As Thorn looks to move away, McKenna throws a big counter combo but Thorn just gets out of the way.
Thorn getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Thorn looks to land a left hand but McKenna moved out of range nicely.

Thorn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Gus McKenna will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McKenna rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thorn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McKenna connects with a body shot that sends Thorn's belly button to the back.
Thorn looks to land a right hand but McKenna moved out of range.
Thorn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McKenna on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

McKenna is looking to control Thorn's arms but Thorn gets an underhook and turns him. Now McKenna has his back to the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thorn swings wildly with an uppercut but McKenna uses good head movement to avoid it.

Thorn throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Thorn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McKenna was well out of range. Poor timing from Thorn.
As Thorn backs away, McKenna returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
McKenna ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Thorn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Thorn moves forwards but McKenna connects with a nice, crisp jab.

and McKenna counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thorn dives in and grabs McKenna's left leg, looking for a takedown. McKenna pushes down on Thorn's head and hops out.

Thorn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McKenna is trying to control Thorn's posture but Thorn avoids it.
McKenna seems a little lost for a moment, as Thorn dominates the positioning.
McKenna is looking for a sweep.
McKenna is working hard here to advance position.

McKenna is looking to reverse the position.
Thorn creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McKenna sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Thorn checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Thorn was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Thorn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of McKenna's head.
McKenna uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thorn.
McKenna misses with a hook. Thorn ducked under it nicely.
McKenna throws a series of punches but Thorn moves out of range.
McKenna shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McKenna throws a chopping leg kick but Thorn manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
McKenna darts in looking for a takedown but Thorn gets double underhooks and turns McKenna into the cage.
Thorn throws a solid leg kick but McKenna takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Thorn.

Damien Thorn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

It looked like McKenna was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Thorn has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McKenna finds it's way round the side to connect with Thorn's head.

Thorn has McKenna pressed against the cage, preventing McKenna from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Thorn has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed McKenna clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

McKenna trying to control the action but Thorn just sinks the hooks in.
Thorn controlling from the back.
Thorn punishes McKenna with strikes from the back mount.
Thorn really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for McKenna.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Let's hope that Thorn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Thorn lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Thorn.
McKenna is trapped and Thorn is scoring with shots to the head and body.


Gus McKenna's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gus McKenna's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

In his post fight interview, Damien Thorn started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
