PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eek Mep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morgan Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Clark's choice of entrance music: God Of Thunder. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mep connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Mep drops Clark with a beautiful combination! Clark stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mep is looking for the KO!

It looks like Morgan Clark has been cut.
Clark throws out a loose jab but Mep uses good head movement to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Clark shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Clark lands a nice short elbow.

Mep looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Clark should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Well, if Clark is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mep is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mep is working hard here to advance position.
Clark wants to free his trapped foot but Mep is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Mep is trying to maintain the position but Clark is very close to passing his half guard.

Clark is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mep is just riding it out for now. Clark eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clark has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mep is trying to reverse the position but instead Clark has taken his back - oops!

Mep wants to control his opponent's hands but Clark gets his hands free.

Clark has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mep is trying to get back to his feet but Clark has full control of the position and if anything, Mep has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Clark looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Clark really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mep.
Mep is trying to break free.
Clark throwing damaging strikes from the back! Mep could be in trouble here!

Clark is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Clark gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Clark gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Clark apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Clark shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mep's guard.

Mep has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Clark should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Mep has tightened it up now! Clark should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
