Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Khatir Afridi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bee Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Khatir Afridi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bee Jay!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay tried to score with a low kick but Afridi checks it.
Afridi finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jay tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Afridi throws a shot to the body.
Jay tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Afridi defends well and Jay ends up having to push Afridi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Afridi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A good leg kick by Afridi.
Jay has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Afridi cracks Jay with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Afridi cracks a nice hook into Jay's ribs.

Jay instigates a clinch.
Jay blocks a body shot from Afridi.
Afridi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Afridi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Afridi jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jay throws a quick inside leg kick.
Afridi throws a right and a left that both miss.

Afridi circles away from the clinch attempt.

Jay lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Afridi scores with a sloppy right hand. Jay should have avoided that one.

and Jay counters with a nice low kick that buckles Afridi's knee momentarily.

Jay throws a body punch but Afridi moves out of range.

Afridi throws a low kick but Jay avoids it.

Jay tries to land a front kick but Afridi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jay takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jay shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jay is fighting to break Afridi's control of his arms but Afridi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Afridi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jay lands a nice hook to Afridi's body. Afridi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jay.
Jay advances nicely into full mount.

Afridi is working to get back to half guard.
Jay looking to control but Afridi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Afridi is not content to let Jay control the position.

Afridi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jay pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Afridi keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Jay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Afridi defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khatir Afridi dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jay fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Afridi tries to keep at a distance but Jay has taken the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Afridi.

Afridi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Afridi can't find room to land a body shot as Jay controls the action.
Jay drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Khatir Afridi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bee Jay.

Jay gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Afridi regains guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Afridi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Afridi is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jay avoids the attempt from Afridi to control.

Jay swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Afridi is now in Jay's guard. A big mistake from Jay there, giving up the dominant position!

Afridi looking to sit in guard and control but Jay gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Afridi swats away the attempt to clinch by Jay.
It looked like Afridi was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jay.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Bee Jay will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Afridi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Afridi misses with an uppercut. Jay saw that one coming.
Jay tries to counter with a clinch but Afridi shakes him off and moves away.

Afridi misses with a straight right.
Afridi thows a leg kick but Jay checks it
and Jay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A clash of legs there as Jay blocks the low kick.
Jay feints the counter takedown.
Jay darts in looking for a takedown but Afridi gets double underhooks and turns Jay into the cage.
Afridi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jay.
Afridi throws a body shot but no joy.
Jay scores with a jab to the head.
Afridi stuns Jay with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Afridi shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Jay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Afridi but Afridi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Khatir Afridi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jay takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Jay closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Afridi to the mat! Afridi manages to get full guard.

Afridi has his foot on Jay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jay works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Jay counters with a shoot takedown. Afridi fights it but they end up in guard.
Afridi seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Afridi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jay is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Afridi.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Khatir Afridi.
I think Afridi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
