The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick there by Montalvo.
Myles Montalvo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montalvo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Montalvo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hatfield has one foot on Montalvo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Montalvo lands a left and a right that send Hatfield crashing to the mat, dazed. Montalvo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hatfield is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Montalvo lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Oh Hatfield is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Montalvo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Montalvo jumps guard.

Montalvo is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hatfield presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Montalvo throws a big uppercut that drops Hatfield! More strikes from Montalvo and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Hatfield lies dazed against the cage as Montalvo celebrates with his cornermen!
