The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sackrider ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Potapenko moves away.
Potapenko was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Sackrider throws a jab when Potapenko was well out of range.

Sackrider fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Potapenko manages to avoid it.
Potapenko steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sackrider.
Sackrider looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sackrider scores with a sloppy right hand. Potapenko should have avoided that one.

and Sackrider takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Potapenko counters with a three punch combo that has Sackrider backing up. Sackrider nods at Potapenko to acknowledge the strikes.

and Potapenko counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sackrider!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potapenko remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
