Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Debrine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vesa Asikainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Debrine's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Best. Vesa Asikainen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Debrine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Vesa Asikainen!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Debrine misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Debrine wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nice cross by Debrine.
Debrine getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Debrine scores with a nice head shot.
Debrine stuffs the takedown attempt from Asikainen. Asikainen gets slowly back to his feet.
A quick step to the side and Debrine tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Debrine has taken the fight to the clinch.
Asikainen wants to break the clinch but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Asikainen manages to break the clinch.
We've been told by Debrine's head coaches at Double XX that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Debrine circles away from the clinch attempt.
Debrine scores with a punch to the head.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Debrine.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Debrine lands a really nice looking cross but Asikainen seems unphased.

Asikainen on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Asikainen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Good shot there by Debrine.
Asikainen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Debrine tries to avoid it but Asikainen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Debrine to the ground. Debrine escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Asikainen shoots in for a takedown but Debrine shows good takedown defense.
Debrine throws a big counter combination but Asikainen scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Max Debrine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vesa Asikainen.
Asikainen cracks Debrine with an open hand slap.
Debrine ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Good standup being displayed there by Debrine as he connects with a hook.
Asikainen tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Asikainen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Debrine's guard.
Asikainen looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Debrine seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Debrine is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Asikainen is looking to control Debrine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Asikainen avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Asikainen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Debrine haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Debrine perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Asikainen tries to kick Debrine off but Debrine keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Debrine is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Asikainen wants to improve his position but Debrine is controlling well.
Debrine is thwarting Asikainen's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Asikainen is trying to stand up here but Debrine is controlling him well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Debrine connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Debrine is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Asikainen closes the distance and clinches up with Debrine, looking for a takedown. Asikainen pushes Debrine against the cage but Debrine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Asikainen tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Debrine is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Debrine fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Asikainen.
A slapping leg kick lands for Debrine.

Debrine changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asikainen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Debrine stands up and beckons Asikainen to his feet.
Debrine lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Asikainen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Debrine circles away.

Debrine clinches.

Debrine's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Debrine scores with a body shot.
Debrine connects with a body shot.
Asikainen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Debrine lands an overhand right.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Debrine dominated that round.

Debrine connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Asikainen's hands.
Vesa Asikainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asikainen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Debrine lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Debrine cracks Asikainen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Asikainen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Debrine sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Asikainen somewhat.
Debrine lands a right hook to the body.

Asikainen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Debrine on his heels. He'll look to pass Debrine's guard now, I'm sure.
Debrine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Asikainen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Asikainen is fighting to break Debrine's control of his arms but Debrine is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Max Debrine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Debrine is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Debrine decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Asikainen, up you get!

Asikainen has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Debrine.
Asikainen throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Debrine counters with a solid body kick.

Debrine lands an elbow inside that Asikainen shrugs off.

Debrine landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
A body shot lands from Debrine.
Asikainen goes for a takedown attempt but Debrine pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Asikainen is breathing heavily.
Asikainen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Debrine connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Asikainen's hands.
Debrine scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Debrine cracks the inside of Asikainen's front leg.
Asikainen's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Asikainen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Debrine sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Debrine throwing a counter right hand but Asikainen manages to avoid it.
Max Debrine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vesa Asikainen.
Asikainen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Debrine goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Debrine lands a really nice looking cross but Asikainen seems unphased.
Debrine lands a leg kick that knocks Asikainen off balance momentarily.
Debrine is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Asikainen can do to turn this around?

Debrine throws a leg kick which misses Asikainen's front leg but catches the back leg as Asikainen tries to avoid it.
Asikainen shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice uppercut there from Debrine.

Debrine fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Debrine throws a good cross that connects.
Asikainen is still on wobbly legs! Can Debrine finish him?
Debrine fakes the body blow, causing Asikainen to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Asikainen goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Max Debrine!
Max Debrine very nearly forgot to thank Venom Combat Sports amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
