PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Art Vandelay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masa Hattori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vandelay might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Answering Machine. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandelay bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hattori's head backwards.
Vandelay punishes Hattori's body with a nice straight punch.
Hattori staying out of range there.
Vandelay lands a jab to the nose.
Vandelay lands with a shot to the body.
Hattori takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hattori looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hattori throws a series of punches but Vandelay moves out of range.

Hattori moves into range and clinches up with Vandelay.
Hattori has a couple of punches blocked by Vandelay.
Vandelay lands a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vandelay drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hattori gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hattori gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Vandelay.
Vandelay has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hattori is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Art Vandelay. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hattori lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Vandelay tries a body shot but Hattori blocks it.
Vandelay drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hattori pulls his leg out and moves away.

Masa Hattori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vandelay connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Vandelay has been working on his balance at Urban Achievers, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hattori.
Vandelay takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Vandelay throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hattori sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Good exchange - Vandelay coming out on top.
Vandelay jabs Hattori to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hattori looks to land a right hand but Vandelay moved out of range.
Vandelay circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vandelay shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hattori eats them both and turns towards Vandelay to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hattori takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Hattori is still on wobbly legs! Can Vandelay finish him?
Nice uppercut lands for Vandelay. That snapped Hattori's head back.
Vandelay is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Hattori walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Vandelay swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
