Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rene Simard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Eggman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rene Simard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dan Eggman's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eggman shoots for a double leg takedown but Simard sprawls well. He's pushed Eggman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Simard drops back, looking for a kneebar! Eggman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Eggman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Eggman!

Eggman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Eggman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Simard shoots in looking for a takedown. Eggman tries to sprawl out of it but Simard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Eggman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Simard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Eggman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Simard has managed to get both his arms back between Eggman's legs - danger averted.

Well Eggman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
