Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sarel The Eagle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matthew Murdock has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matthew Murdock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sarel The Eagle!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murdock manages to get an easy takedown there - catching The Eagle on his heels. He'll look to pass The Eagle's guard now, I'm sure.
Murdock is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The Eagle is trying to control the position but Murdock postures up.
Murdock wants to pass the guard but The Eagle is keeping the position.
The Eagle controls Murdock momentarily but Murdock frees himself.
Murdock preventing the sweep.
Murdock is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murdock advances to half guard.
Murdock passes to side control.
Murdock controls the position from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on The Eagle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The Eagle tries to bench press Murdock off him but Murdock keeps the position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - The Eagle has eaten all the pies!
Murdock happy to just control the position for now.

Murdock is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The Eagle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Murdock content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Eagle wants to control but Murdock postures up.
Murdock controls the position.
The Eagle is trying to control Murdock's posture but Murdock avoids it.
The Eagle looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Murdock controls the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Murdock's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The Eagle is trying to control Murdock's posture but Murdock avoids it.

The Eagle tries to bench press Murdock off him but Murdock keeps the position.
Murdock has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Murdock takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Murdock has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The Eagle squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Murdock controlling the pace for now.
The Eagle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murdock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Murdock avoids the attempt from The Eagle to control.
The Eagle is in all sorts of trouble here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Murdock controlling from the full mount.
The Eagle is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matthew Murdock dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Murdock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Murdock lands in his opponent's guard.
Murdock stops The Eagle from standing up.
Murdock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. The Eagle is keeping the position for now.
Murdock passes into half guard.
Murdock performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Murdock seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down The Eagle for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Murdock works his way into side control.
Murdock tries to move to mount but The Eagle blocks the move with his legs.

Murdock has hold of The Eagle's arm. He's looking for a kimura. The Eagle seems comfortable defending it but Murdock has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! The Eagle is real pain and he's forced to tap out! The Eagle is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Murdock couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Matthew Murdock!
