Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rock Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparring Fighter 1 (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fighter 1 has chosen Lou Reed - The day John Kennedy Died as his entrance music. Sparring Fighter 1 is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sparring Fighter 1!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter 1 fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gracie tries to counter with a takedown but Fighter 1 is quick to defend against it.
Fighter 1 moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
It looked like Gracie wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sparring Fighter 1 seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gracie holds on and takes a little breather.
Fighter 1 would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter 1 slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Fighter 1 shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fighter 1 is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Fighter 1 wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fighter 1 is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gracie !

Fighter 1 avoids the attempt from Gracie to control.

Fighter 1 stands up from mount. Strange move.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gracie moves into range and clinches up with Fighter 1.
Gracie on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Gracie wants a takedown but no success here.

Fighter 1 pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gracie connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fighter 1 momentarily.
Fighter 1 tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Gracie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Fighter 1 clinches up against the cage.
Gracie blocks an uppercut.

Fighter 1's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gracie lands with an overhand left.

Fighter 1 has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fighter 1 misses with an elbow strike.
Fighter 1 misses with a knee strike.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fighter 1 swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Fighter 1 tries a body shot but Gracie blocks it.
Fighter 1 creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Fighter 1 fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Fighter 1 swings away with an uppercut that misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Fighter 1 just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gracie 's brow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fighter 1 wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gracie has him pressed against the cage.
Fighter 1 with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Gracie manages to break the clinch.

and Fighter 1 counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Gracie tries to keep at a distance but Fighter 1 has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gracie blocks the elbow strike.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Gracie .
Fighter 1 pushes Gracie back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fighter 1 lands a shot to the body.

Gracie breaks the clinch.
Gracie looks to land a right hand but Fighter 1 moved out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sparring Fighter 1 dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Fighter 1 drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gracie is pulling down on Fighter 1's head. It's preventing any offense from Fighter 1, at least for the moment.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Fighter 1 from controlling successfully.

Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fighter 1 must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fighter 1 content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gracie has locked up a guillotine! Gracie 's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Fighter 1 is holding on here and Gracie must be using up a lot of energy. Fighter 1 has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gracie gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
