Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Shahen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Shahen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Shahen!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shahen moves into the clinch.
Freeman taking a breather.
Freeman really is a fat lump.
Shahen stalling in the clinch but Freeman improves position.
Freeman just leaning against Shahen, taking a breather.
Freeman slows down the pace here.
Shahen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Freeman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Shahen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Freeman to the mat. Freeman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Shahen slips nicely into half guard.

Shahen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Freeman looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Let's hope that Shahen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Shahen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Shahen is trying to control. Freeman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Freeman is trying to maintain the position but Shahen is very close to passing his half guard.
Shahen stops Freeman from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Shahen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shahen showed some decent athleticism there.

Shahen tries to stand but can't do so whilst Freeman controls his leg.

Freeman really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Shahen shoots in and bounces Freeman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Freeman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Shahen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Freeman haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Shahen stands and throws Freeman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Shahen just content to control the position.
It looks like Shahen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Freeman can't do much from the bottom here.

Shahen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Freeman can't fight it off and eventually Shahen manages to take the fight to the floor. Freeman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Shahen is trying to trip Freeman. He has hold of a leg but Freeman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Shahen persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Shahen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Freeman has his foot on Shahen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shahen works his way back into a safe position though.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Shahen throws a strike but Freeman avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Shahen gets to his feet - Freeman follows without any prompting.

Shahen rushes Freeman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Shahen tightens his grip and picks Freeman up, before dumping him to the ground. Freeman manages to land in guard.

Freeman is working an open guard so Shahen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Shahen has closed the distance and engaged Freeman in a clinch.
Shahen throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Shahen has picked Freeman up - he's going for a ride! Shahen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Freeman wants to get back to full guard.
Shahen is trying to control the action in half guard but Freeman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Shahen seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shahen wants to control but Freeman is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Shahen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Shahen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Freeman's guard.
Shahen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shahen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Freeman is pulling down on Shahen's head to control his posture.
Shahen is looking to stand up but Freeman won't let him.

Shahen stands up and waves to Freeman to follow him.

Freeman tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Shahen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Freeman is looking to escape.

Shahen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Shahen throws some wild stikes that Freeman manages to avoid easily.
Shahen controlling the pace for now.

Joe Shahen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Freeman is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
