Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arthur Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Jochem Vermeer!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vermeer clinches with his opponent.

Bishop wants the takedown. Vermeer is fighting it off but Bishop persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Vermeer's guard against the cage.
Bishop is standing up over Vermeer. Vermeer looks to escape but Bishop dives into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vermeer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vermeer looks to move to half guard but instead Bishop has passed into mount! Damn!
Bishop lands a heavy elbow.
Bishop controlling the position easily from mount.
Vermeer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bishop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bishop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bishop scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bishop working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Bishop controlling his opponent.
Bishop is landing with some decent strikes but Vermeer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Bishop is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Vermeer to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vermeer shrugs it off.
Bishop tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bishop scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bishop cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bishop is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Vermeer is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Vermeer flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Bishop anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Vermeer and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Bishop slips an arm under Vermeer chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Bishop has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Bishop is squeezing on Vermeer like an anaconda would it's prey. Vermeer fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Arthur Bishop!
During a confident post fight interview, Arthur Bishop thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
