Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cameron Gowing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jenik Krejza!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gowing fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Krejza has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Gowing closes the distance and clinches.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Krejza is thwarting Gowing's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gowing wants to improve his position but Krejza is controlling well.
Krejza slips a nice elbow through Gowing's hands, connecting with Gowing's forehead.

Krejza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gowing misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gowing throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Krejza doesn't manage to clinch there - Gowing circles away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Krejza enables Gowing to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Krejza manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Krejza scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Krejza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gowing sprawls well. Gowing wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Krejza gets slowly back to his feet.
Krejza just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromGowing.

Gowing drives through with a takedown into Krejza's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Krejza has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Gowing is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gowing pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gowing throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Krejza tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gowing is in Krejza's guard.

Krejza wants to sweep but no luck.

Gowing gets to his feet - Krejza follows without any prompting.
Krejza misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Good leg kick by Gowing there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Gowing shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Krejza napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Krejza seems a little lost for a moment, as Gowing dominates the positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cameron Gowing will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Gowing avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Krejza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gowing but Gowing pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Gowing is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Krejza's half guard.
Krejza gets back to full guard.
Gowing is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Krejza throws an elbow that misses. Gowing uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Krejza's guard. Nice move by Gowing!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Krejza wants to stand up but Gowing is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gowing seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Gowing breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Krejza takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Krejza looks to land a body kick but Gowing moved away.
Krejza throws a push kick but Gowing slaps the foot to one side.
Gowing tries to counter with a takedown but Krejza is quick to defend against it.

Gowing fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Krejza, pushing him back against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gowing lands with a left to the head.

Gowing's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gowing avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Krejza dives in for a single leg takedown but Gowing sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Krejza takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Jenik Krejza has been cut.
Krejza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gowing as he jumps to the side.

Krejza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gowing lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Krejza backs up against the cage.

Gowing gets a takedown into half guard.

Krejza pushes Gowing off and gets back to his feet.
Gowing is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Krejza can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gowing, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
