Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Karter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boshtok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boshtok has chosen Jump Around M*thaf*cka as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karter tries to close the distance and clinch but Boshtok swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Karter misses with an uppercut
and Boshtok counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Yuri Boshtok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karter looks to land a right hand but Boshtok moved out of range.
Karter dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Boshtok. That did some damage!

My spies in The Wild Beasts Zoo inform me that Boshtok has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Boshtok tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Boshtok has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Boshtok does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Karter throws an overhand right that lands on Boshtok's shoulder, as Boshtok tries to avoid the shot.

As Boshtok tries to get set, Karter tries to push him back and clinch up but Boshtok manages to avoid the attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
