Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Breneman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolai Kovalenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adam Breneman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 60 - 41 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Kovalenko!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Breneman forces Kovalenko back against the cage and clinches.
Kovalenko tries to break free but Breneman pushes him back against the cage.
Breneman tries for a takedown but Kovalenko manages to get underhooks.

Kovalenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kovalenko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Breneman.
Kovalenko is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Breneman shoots in but no luck this time.
Breneman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Breneman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Breneman throws a solid leg kick but Kovalenko takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Breneman.

Breneman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Breneman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kovalenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kovalenko throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Breneman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Kovalenko counters with a one-two to the body.
Kovalenko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Breneman.
Breneman rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kovalenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Breneman misses with a leg kick
enabling Kovalenko to counter with a crisp jab.
Breneman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kovalenko swivels and escapes.
Nikolai Kovalenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Breneman throws a lazy right hand but Kovalenko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kovalenko blocks a jab.
Breneman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Breneman lands an overhand right.
Kovalenko takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kovalenko jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kovalenko avoids the body shot from Breneman.
Kovalenko misses with a two punch combination.
Breneman throws a combination that misses
and Kovalenko counters with a three punch combo that has Breneman backing up. Breneman nods at Kovalenko to acknowledge the strikes.

Breneman dives in and scores a takedown into Kovalenko's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Breneman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Breneman stays in close to Kovalenko's body and controls the position.
Breneman throws a big right hand that misses.

Kovalenko uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Breneman dives in and scores a takedown into Kovalenko's guard.

Kovalenko pushes Breneman off and gets back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Breneman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kovalenko wants to stand up but Breneman is controlling him.
Breneman content to stall in guard here.
Breneman postures up in Kovalenko's guard and throws a big left but Kovalenko blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Breneman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nikolai Kovalenko will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Breneman throws a right and a left that Kovalenko avoids nicely.
Kovalenko keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kovalenko connects with a single shot there.
Breneman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kovalenko is fending him off so far but Breneman persists. Nope, Kovalenko circles away and we're back to standing.
Nikolai Kovalenko seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Breneman throws a series of punches but Kovalenko avoids them all with ease.
Kovalenko looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Breneman shoots in and gets a takedown into Kovalenko's guard.
Breneman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kovalenko pulls Breneman in close to prevent any damage.
Kovalenko keeping moving, preventing Breneman from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Breneman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
No joy there for Breneman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kovalenko stuffs the takedown attempt from Breneman. Breneman gets slowly back to his feet.

Kovalenko pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Breneman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kovalenko napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Breneman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kovalenko keeps working.
Breneman is trying to ground and pound but Kovalenko uses the momentary lack of control by Breneman to regain half guard.
Breneman wants to take a breather but Kovalenko is having none of it.
Breneman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kovalenko looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kovalenko tries to kick Breneman off but Breneman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Breneman passes to full mount!
Breneman looking to control and managing it successfully.
Breneman looking to control but Kovalenko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kovalenko tries to lock up and control but Breneman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee warns Kovalenko that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Kovalenko is rocked!
Breneman postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Kovalenko out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Breneman goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Adam Breneman!
In his post fight interview, Adam Breneman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
