Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marek Koltun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Parks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 4, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Koltun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Lyoto Parks!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koltun closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Parks's guard.
Parks looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Parks has Koltun pulled in close to control his posture.
Parks is trying to keep Koltun in close.
Koltun postures up in Parks's guard and throws a big left but Parks blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parks preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Parks tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Koltun wants to control from the top but Parks keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parks has momentary wrist control but Koltun slips an elbow through the middle.

Koltun is working Parks over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Koltun is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Parks is just riding it out for now. Koltun eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Koltun postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Koltun makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Parks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Koltun not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Parks takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Parks on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Koltun shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Parks's guard.

Koltun is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Parks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Koltun.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Koltun is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Parks sees it coming and defends easily.
Parks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Koltun's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Koltun's back!

Parks might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Koltun haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Parks controlling the positon.
Koltun is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Parks can do to turn this around?
Parks is controlling the position but Koltun somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Koltun is looking for a sweep. Parks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Koltun is pressing down on Parks's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Koltun fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Parks.
Koltun lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Parks takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Koltun ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Parks moves away.

Koltun thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Parks's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Parks is trying to stand.
Koltun seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Koltun passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Parks!

Koltun lands a couple of good shots and Parks has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Koltun is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Koltun.
Parks is really stuck here.
Marek Koltun is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Parks just trying to survive but Koltun is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Koltun's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
