PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brij Khali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Siete Finess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 73 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Brij Khali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Siete Finess!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finess clinches.

Finess manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Finess is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Finess tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khali trying to control but Finess is working from the bottom.
Khali tries to stand but Finess is controlling from the bottom.

Finess is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Finess winds up and cracks Khali with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Finess seems content to control.
Finess landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Finess thows a huge punch but Khali dodges it nicely.
Finess passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Khali!

Finess looking to secure an arm triangle but Khali defends it well.
Finess looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Finess cracks Khali with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Finess lands a big shot there that rocks Khali but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Finess throwing strikes here but Khali is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Finess tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Finess trying to control but Khali is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Finess looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Finess throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Finess wants to control the pace but Khali is squirming around nicely.

Finess jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Khali is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Khali and Finess has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Finess can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Khali is looking to escape.

Finess goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Khali turns into him and now he's in Finess's guard.

Finess seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Finess is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Khali defends well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Siete Finess dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Finess drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Finess trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Finess has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Finess trying to control the position from guard on top but Khali is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Finess throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Khali works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Finess showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Finess tries to free his leg and advance position but Khali is retaining full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Finess has taken the fight to the clinch.
Finess is stalling here.

Finess gets control of Khali's arms and successfully pulls guard. Finess will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Finess managing to control the position.
Khali wants to get up but he can't break Finess's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Finess closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Khali goes for a takedown in the clinch but Finess prevents it.
Khali wants a takedown.
Finess lands with a light punch inside.

Finess decides to pull guard.

Finess manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Khali takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Finess takes the fight into the clinch.
Khali is working for takedown but Finess is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brij Khali. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Finess misses with a body punch.

Finess has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Khali clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Finess is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Finess looking to break Khali's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Khali remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Finess will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Siete Finess showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Khali's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Finess moves into the clinch.
Khali has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Finess after a bit of a struggle.

Khali is looking to stand up but Finess won't let him.
Finess wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Khali is posturing up here but Finess has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Khali tries to roll out but it's too tight and Khali has to tap! Slick submission there by Finess!
