Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardo Edwards will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Chris Dean and Ben Hemmingworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards lands a slapping body shot.
Edwards scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Edwards scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Edwards gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vargas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Edwards not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Edwards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vargas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edwards tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edwards controls Vargas momentarily but Vargas frees himself.
Edwards should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Edwards bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vargas's guard.

Edwards distracts Vargas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vargas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Edwards on the ground.
Vargas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vargas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Vargas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Edwards content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Vargas has momentary wrist control but Edwards slips an elbow through the middle.

Edwards got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vargas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Edwards has managed to get both his arms back between Vargas's legs - danger averted.
Edwards trying to control the position from guard on top but Vargas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Vargas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edwards can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Edwards connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vargas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Edwards doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Edwards manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Edwards keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Vargas's head.
Edwards arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Vargas's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
