Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rocco Marciano!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dj Brown!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Brown misses.
Brown chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marciano can pounce on him.
Brown looks to throw the jab but Marciano is out of range.
Brown misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A little feinted left hand from Marciano on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Marciano throws a hook to the side of Brown's head but Brown sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Marciano fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brown.
Marciano showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brown.
Brown throws a looping overhand right but Marciano ducks down to avoid it.
Marciano appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
A right-left combo lands from Brown.
It looks like Rocco Marciano has been cut.
Brown throws a body shot but no joy.
Marciano lands a nice leg kick that just misses Brown's sensitive parts.
Brown takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Marciano steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Brown.
Brown misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Marciano cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Marciano with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Brown tries to bum rush Marciano with a series of wild strikes but Marciano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Brown staying out of range there.
Brown works the jab nicely.
Marciano scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Brown takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Marciano looks to land a left hand but Brown moved out of range nicely.
Marciano jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Brown avoids the head kick by Marciano.
Marciano lands with a kick to the ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown throws a right hand that misses
and Marciano counters with a huge left! Brown is in big trouble! He's backing up but Marciano isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Brown from any more damage. A dominating finish by Marciano!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocco Marciano!
