Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, William Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eldar Smith!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith checks a leg kick nicely.
Burns misses with an uppercut
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Burns darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Burns throws an off balance right hand
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Burns swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Burns misses the shot to the body.
Smith throws out a counter right but Burns avoids it with no problem.
A looping hook to the body misses from Burns. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Burns swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith throws a right hand that Burns ducks under and follows up with a left that Burns also avoids with ease.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burns.
Burns lands a jab to Smith's midsection.
Burns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Burns moves to clinch but Smith breaks away
and Smith counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith takes a swing at Burns's ribcage but misses.
Burns looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Burns lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Burns has managed to clinch.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith misses with a body shot.
Burns cracks a nice hook into Smith's ribs.
Burns scores with a sloppy right hand. Smith should have avoided that one.
Burns lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range.
Donk. Burns catches Smith right on the button with a cross.
Burns throws a lazy uppercut
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Burns moves forwards but Smith connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Burns scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A nice inside leg kick there by Burns. That's going to slow Smith down.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burns throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it.
Smith has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Burns takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Burns closes the distance and clinches.
Burns misses with a knee strike.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Burns.
A head punch on the inside from Smith fails to land.
Smith is trying to break the clinch but Burns has him pressed against the cage.
Smith misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Burns manages to break the clinch.
Burns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.

Oooooh!!! Smith has knocked Burns down with a huge combo! Smith steps away and waves a wobbly Burns back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like William Burns has been cut.
Smith has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A jab from Burns does it's job there.
William Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Burns gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smith.
Burns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Smith Throws a clean left jab. Smith Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Burns's chin! Burns crumbles to the ground and Smith follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Smith!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eldar Smith!
After winning the bout, Eldar Smith thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
William Burns was interviewed post fight and said 'Payback is a bitch'.
