Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russell Northrop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill The Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Northrop kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Alive And Kicking. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Northrop lands the left hand.
Russell Northrop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Northrop misses the target.
Northrop throws an uppercut from half a mile away. The Kid sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The Kid looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Northrop throws a jab when The Kid was well out of range.
Northrop misses with a hook. The Kid ducked under it nicely.
Northrop connects with a single shot there.
Northrop lands an overhand right.
The Kid throws a body shot but no joy.
Northrop on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The Kid misses with an uppercut. Northrop saw that one coming.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Northrop.
Northrop shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts The Kid as he jumps to the side.
The Kid on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Some wild striking there from Northrop.
Northrop throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Northrop tries to counter with a takedown but The Kid is quick to defend against it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Northrop is defended easily by The Kid.
Northrop throws a combination that misses

The Kid takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Northrop scores with a punch to the head.
Northrop takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Northrop misses with a looping left.
Northrop moves forwards but The Kid connects with a nice, crisp jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Northrop decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The Kid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Northrop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Northrop not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Northrop is looking to take a break and control but The Kid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Northrop stops The Kid from getting back to his feet.

Northrop is really struggling to control The Kid but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Northrop is pressing down on The Kid's thigh, looking to free his foot. The Kid is holding on for now.
The Kid looks like he's trying to stand up.

Northrop seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. The Kid is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Russell Northrop really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Project Mayhem logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
