Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Welington Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateusz Biernat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Biernat has chosen Speedy Gonzales as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva is looking to clinch.
A punch combination from Biernat misses.
Silva throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Biernat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Silva tries to clinch but Biernat is having none of it.
Biernat lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Welington Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Biernat clinches.
Biernat dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Biernat pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silva tries to clinch up but Biernat circles away and keeps his distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Biernat keeps the fight on the outside.

Biernat closes the distance and clinches.
Biernat digs a right hand underneath Silva's ribcage. Silva let out a lung full of air as it connected.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Biernat.

Silva breaks from the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Biernat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva tries to clinch up but Biernat circles away and keeps his distance.
Biernat unleashes a big counter combination but Silva bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Silva is looking to clinch but Biernat is avoiding it.
Silva tries to clinch up.

Biernat pushes Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Biernat keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silva's efforts to push away.
Biernat lands an elbow inside that Silva shrugs off.
Silva is trying to push Biernat away but Biernat has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Biernat has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Biernat prevents Silva from breaking the clinch.
Biernat gets through Silva's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Biernat escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Biernat lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Biernat manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Biernat steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Silva.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Biernat misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Biernat paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Biernat counters with a series of strikes that sends Silva to the canvas! Biernat follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Silva is rocked!

Biernat stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Biernat feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Silva crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mateusz Biernat!
